These Australian grown, organic almonds have a naturally crunchy texture and more-ish sweet nutty flavour. Unroasted and unsalted, these almonds are versatile in use, perfect for creating nut butters, milks, baked goods, trail mixes, mueslis and more.
Almonds are the super-nut of the tree nut family, boasting a high protein, fibre, healthy fat, vitamin E and mineral content.
A handful of organic almonds are great to snack on, or toss these almonds in your favourite stir-fry, muesli or trail mix.
Australian almonds are sourced from organic farms in the Adelaide Plains and Riverland areas across SA and NSW.
Almonds are harvested from the inside of the inedible fruit of the almond tree. They are not self-pollinating, so at least two different varieties of trees are necessary for a productive orchard.
Bees play a vital role in the pollination of an almond crop. Once the almond blossom dies off and pollination has happened, the almond “fruit” will start to appear. This grows and the almond matures on the tree, the fruit eventually splitting to expose the ‘almond in shell’. Once ripe, they are harvested and left to dry in rows on the orchard floor, then cracked (hulled) and processed. No pesticides, herbicides, preservatives or heat treating is involved in the process of these organic raw almonds.
These almonds are of the Nonpareil Supreme variety.
